Refreshing and hydrating watermelon infused water with mint and lime. A simple and delicious way to stay cool and enjoy the flavors of summer.

- 8 cups cold, filtered water
- 4 cups cubed watermelon, seeds removed
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, lightly crushed
- 1/4 cup lime juice (approximately 2–3 limes)
- Optional: 1/4 cup cucumber slices
- Optional: 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- Optional: Ice cubes, for serving
Instructions
- Cut watermelon into 1-inch cubes, removing seeds.
- Gently crush mint leaves to release their aroma.
- In a large pitcher, combine watermelon, crushed mint, and lime juice (and cucumber/basil if using).
- Gently muddle the mixture for a more intense flavor.
- Pour cold, filtered water into the pitcher, ensuring ingredients are submerged.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow flavors to infuse.
- After infusing, taste and adjust infusion time if needed (up to 12 hours).
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for clearer water.
- Serve chilled with ice.
- Garnish with watermelon slice, mint sprig, or lime wedge.
Notes
- Use seedless watermelon for convenience, but seeded varieties often have richer flavor.
- Adjust sweetness with honey, agave, or stevia if desired.
- Experiment with other citrus fruits like lemon, orange, or grapefruit.
- Try different herb combinations like rosemary, thyme, or lavender.
- Add fresh berries for extra flavor and antioxidants.
- For a spicy kick, add a small piece of ginger or a pinch of chili flakes.
- Use sparkling water for a bubbly twist.
- Freeze infused water into ice cubes for later use.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Refill the pitcher with more water a couple of times while the fruit is still fresh.
