Description
A refreshing and floral Strawberry Jasmine Tea Latte, made with homemade strawberry syrup and strong jasmine tea concentrate. Perfect hot or iced!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 4 cups water
- 8 jasmine tea bags (or 8 teaspoons loose leaf jasmine tea)
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy, your preference!)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra richness)
- Ice cubes
- Optional garnishes: fresh strawberries, whipped cream, jasmine flowers
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the quartered strawberries, granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice. Stir well.
- Simmer: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and the syrup thickens.
- Mash the Strawberries: Use a potato masher or the back of a spoon to gently mash the strawberries.
- Strain the Syrup (Optional): Place a fine-mesh sieve over a heat-proof bowl. Pour the strawberry mixture through the sieve, pressing down on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
- Cool and Store: Let the strawberry syrup cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Heat the Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.
- Steep the Tea: Remove from heat and add the jasmine tea bags (or loose leaf tea). Cover and let steep for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove Tea Bags/Strain: Remove the tea bags or strain the loose leaf tea from the water. Discard the tea bags or leaves.
- Cool: Allow the jasmine tea concentrate to cool completely before using.
- Prepare the Milk: Use cold milk, or froth it for a creamier texture. If using heavy cream, whip until soft peaks form.
- Fill the Glass: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Add Strawberry Syrup: Pour 2-3 tablespoons of strawberry syrup into the glass.
- Add Jasmine Tea Concentrate: Pour 1/2 cup of jasmine tea concentrate into the glass.
- Add Milk: Pour the milk (frothed or unfrothed) over the ice and syrup mixture.
- Stir: Gently stir the latte to combine all the ingredients.
- Top with Cream (Optional): If using whipped cream, dollop on top.
- Garnish (Optional): Garnish with fresh strawberries, jasmine flowers, or a sprinkle of strawberry powder.
- Enjoy!
