Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Gently fold the caramel sauce into the cookie dough, creating swirls for pockets of caramel in every bite.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Once the dough has chilled, use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top of each cookie.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them sit on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes.
- Carefully transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Drizzle extra caramel sauce on top if desired, once the cookies have cooled.
- Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
