Honey Lime Baked Salmon: Delicious Recipe & Easy Instructions

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

Flaky and flavorful baked salmon marinated in a sweet and tangy honey-lime sauce. A quick, easy, and healthy weeknight meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds salmon fillet, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, honey, lime juice, lime zest, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish or resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, coating evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down (if using skin-on salmon). Pour any remaining marinade over the salmon.
  5. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the baked salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the salmon. It should be opaque and flake easily.
  • Adjust the marinade to your taste preferences.
  • Marinating for longer will result in a more flavorful salmon.
  • Parchment paper prevents sticking and makes cleanup easier.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
