- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 12 slider buns
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for garlic butter)
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pound thick chicken breasts to even thickness.
- Season Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Coat Chicken: Add chicken to the bowl and toss to coat evenly.
- Cheese Base: Spread 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese on a baking sheet.
- Place Chicken: Place seasoned chicken on top of the Parmesan cheese.
- Cheese Topping: Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Rest and Shred: Let chicken rest for a few minutes, then shred with two forks.
- Make Garlic Parmesan Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and parsley. Stir well.
- Assemble Sliders: Slice slider buns in half.
- Sauce the Buns: Spread garlic Parmesan sauce on both halves of each bun.
- Add Chicken: Divide shredded chicken evenly among the bottom halves of the buns.
- Add Mozzarella (Optional): Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the chicken, if using.
- Top with Buns: Place the top halves of the buns on top.
- Make Garlic Butter (Optional): Melt butter and mix with garlic powder.
- Brush with Garlic Butter (Optional): Brush the tops of the buns with garlic butter.
- Bake (Optional): Bake for 5-10 minutes, or until buns are lightly toasted and cheese is melted (if using).
- Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Don’t overcook the chicken, or it will become dry.
- If you don’t have fresh parsley, you can use dried parsley, but use half the amount.
- You can prepare the chicken and sauce ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator until you’re ready to assemble the sliders.
- These sliders are best served warm, but they can also be enjoyed cold.
- Add some sliced tomatoes or lettuce for a fresh crunch.
- Use different types of cheese, such as provolone or Monterey Jack.
- Add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
- Serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
