Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried rosemary)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch cubes.
  2. Season the steak pieces generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Let the seasoned steak sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the steak bites in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes to form a crust, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
  7. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and cover with foil to keep warm.
  8. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
  9. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  10. Stir in the fresh thyme and rosemary, allowing them to infuse for about 1 minute.
  11. Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet and toss in the garlic butter sauce for 1-2 minutes.
  12. Transfer the steak bites to a serving platter in a single layer.
  13. Drizzle any remaining garlic butter sauce over the steak bites.
  14. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
  15. Serve immediately, pairing with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Feel free to use your favorite cut of steak if sirloin isn’t available.
