Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • Extra cinnamon and sugar for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and granulated sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and gently fold together until just combined.
  5. Grease the donut pan with non-stick spray or butter.
  6. Fill each donut cavity about 2/3 full with batter using a piping bag or zip-top bag.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, 1-2 tablespoons of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Mix equal parts granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl for topping.
  11. Dip the top of each cooled donut into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
  12. Place glazed donuts on a wire rack for 10-15 minutes to set the glaze.
  13. Enjoy fresh or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing the batter to ensure light and fluffy donuts.
  • For best results, serve the donuts the same day they are made.
  • Feel free to customize the glaze with different flavors or toppings!
