Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe banana, frozen
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
- 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional, for creaminess)
- Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker texture)
- Chopped peanuts or chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients: Lay everything out on the counter for easy access.
- Prepare the banana: If using a fresh banana, peel and slice it into chunks. If using a frozen banana, skip this step.
- Measure out the cocoa powder: Use unsweetened cocoa powder for a rich flavor.
- Scoop the peanut butter: Use natural peanut butter for the best taste; warm slightly if too thick.
- Get your milk ready: Measure out 1 cup of almond milk or your preferred milk.
- Optional ingredients: Measure honey or maple syrup for sweetness and scoop out 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt if using.
- Add the ingredients to the blender: Start with almond milk, then add banana, cocoa powder, peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and Greek yogurt.
- Blend on high: Blend for about 30 seconds until smooth. Add more milk if too thick.
- Check the consistency: Adjust thickness by adding ice cubes for a thicker smoothie or more milk if too thick.
- Taste and adjust: Sweeten with more honey or maple syrup if desired, or add more cocoa for a stronger flavor.
- Pour into glasses: Serve in clear glasses to showcase the beautiful chocolate color.
- Garnish (optional): Top with chopped peanuts or chocolate shavings for added crunch.
- Enjoy immediately: Best served fresh, enjoy with a straw or spoon!
