Description
These chewy blondies are loaded with chocolate chips and a touch of vanilla, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion. Quick to prepare and even quicker to disappear, they are destined to be a family favorite!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate, based on preference)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans work well)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well combined and slightly glossy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Reserve a handful of chocolate chips for topping if desired.
- Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- If reserved, sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top of the batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness at the 25-minute mark. The edges should be golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Use the parchment paper to lift the blondies out and let them cool completely on a cutting board before slicing.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider using dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
- Feel free to customize the mix-ins by adding your favorite candies or dried fruits.
- These blondies can be served warm or at room temperature, and pair wonderfully with ice cream or caramel sauce.
