Chocolate Chip Blondie Bars: The Ultimate Recipe for a Delicious Treat

  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 16 blondies 1x

Description

These chewy blondies are loaded with chocolate chips and a touch of vanilla, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion. Quick to prepare and even quicker to disappear, they are destined to be a family favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate, based on preference)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans work well)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well combined and slightly glossy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Reserve a handful of chocolate chips for topping if desired.
  7. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. If reserved, sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top of the batter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness at the 25-minute mark. The edges should be golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Use the parchment paper to lift the blondies out and let them cool completely on a cutting board before slicing.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider using dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
  • Feel free to customize the mix-ins by adding your favorite candies or dried fruits.
  • These blondies can be served warm or at room temperature, and pair wonderfully with ice cream or caramel sauce.
