Crispy, flavorful air fryer sweet potatoes seasoned with smoked paprika and spices. A healthy, easy side dish or snack!

- 2 large sweet potatoes, scrubbed and dried
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- Optional toppings: chopped fresh parsley, sour cream, Greek yogurt, shredded cheese, chives, everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Wash and Dry: Scrub sweet potatoes under running water and dry thoroughly.
- Cut: Cut into fries (1/2 inch thick) or 1-inch cubes.
- Soak (Optional): Soak cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Drain and pat completely dry.
- Season: In a large bowl, toss sweet potatoes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Ensure even coating.
- Preheat: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Arrange: Place seasoned sweet potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Cook: Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through.
- Check: Check for doneness by inserting a fork or toothpick. They should be tender and easily pierced.
- Serve: Remove from air fryer and place in a serving bowl.
- Add Toppings (Optional): Sprinkle with desired toppings like parsley, sour cream, cheese, or everything bagel seasoning.
- Serve Immediately: Serve hot and crispy.
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, soaking is highly recommended.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer and the size of the sweet potato pieces.
