  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crispy, flavorful air fryer sweet potatoes seasoned with smoked paprika and spices. A healthy, easy side dish or snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, scrubbed and dried
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped fresh parsley, sour cream, Greek yogurt, shredded cheese, chives, everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Wash and Dry: Scrub sweet potatoes under running water and dry thoroughly.
  2. Cut: Cut into fries (1/2 inch thick) or 1-inch cubes.
  3. Soak (Optional): Soak cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Drain and pat completely dry.
  4. Season: In a large bowl, toss sweet potatoes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Ensure even coating.
  5. Preheat: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Arrange: Place seasoned sweet potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  7. Cook: Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through.
  8. Check: Check for doneness by inserting a fork or toothpick. They should be tender and easily pierced.
  9. Serve: Remove from air fryer and place in a serving bowl.
  10. Add Toppings (Optional): Sprinkle with desired toppings like parsley, sour cream, cheese, or everything bagel seasoning.
  11. Serve Immediately: Serve hot and crispy.

Notes

  • For extra crispy fries, soaking is highly recommended.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer and the size of the sweet potato pieces.
  • Experiment with different spices to customize the flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer for best results.
